RESEARCH INTERESTS
Metamorphic petrology: field-based research focusing upon mineral major and trace element geochemistry, structural geology, thermobarometry with emphases upon understanding the tectono-metamorphic evolution of orogenic processes.
Mineral equilibria modelling: thermodynamic models, mineral equilibria modelling of in high-P granulites, eclogites and blueschists of mafic compositions together with pelite partial melting at granulite to eclogite facies.
Mineral chemical zoning and textures: coupled mineral thermodynamic and kinetic models to understand the metamorphic processes active during the evolution of lower crust within arc and mountain belt environments.

Conventional thermobarometric approximations & average PT calculations in THERMOCALC.
Micro-petrologic and structural analysis. Qualitative X-Ray mapping and spot analysis, back-scattered electron imaging, reflected-light, plane-light and cross-polarized-light optical petrography.
Electron probe microanalysis (2008). Wavelength- and energy dispersive spectrometry on a JEOL 8500F Hyperprobe.
Electron probe microanalysis (2005-2007). Wavelength- and energy dispersive spectrometry on a Cameca SX-50 for major element spot and map analysis.
Vibration spectroscopy analysis (2008). Laser Raman Renishaw RM 2000 Spectrometer to ascertain vibration energies of complex inclusion generations.
Scanning electron microscopy (2006-2009). Philips XL 30 CP for BSE image acquisition, textural analysis, and zircon reconnaissance.
Rock sample preparation. Rock crushing/ powdering/ separation techniques, thin-section block manufacture and FeO/Fe2+ HF titration technique.
